ABOUT TOVS
TOVS was the first television freelance agency of its kind established in 1986 by two ex-ATV (now ITV) TV employees in order to have just one central number for booking freelance personnel. Recognised as the leading freelance staff suppliers, TOVS works with a wide variety of clients in TV and Film from preproduction to postproduction. With our friendly staff and our quick responses to client requests we have established a reputation for ourselves as being helpful and efficient as well as being fun. THE TEAM
IRENE HANLEY
After working at ATV (now ITV) Irene became aware that it was difficult to crew up freelancers without a one-stop centre to do so. She then co-founded TOVS, which successfully solved this dilemma. Today she maintains relationships with our client base serving all sectors within the Television and Film Industry as well as looking after the diaries for the Technical and Postproduction crews.Responsible for the daily running of the business, she works closely with Marlen to bring together a team that maintains its professionalism without losing its “good sense of humour”! Her Irish lilt and charming wit together with her passion for the business means she is the glue that holds us all together.
MARLEN COLLINS
An MA Advanced Theatre Practice graduate, Marlen has been part of the team at TOVS since 2005. During this time she has progressed from Admin Assistant to Office Manager establishing the trust of both the members and clients.Along with Irene, Marlen now manages the Technical and Postproduction diaries striving to aid both freelancers and clients’ wishes in the most proficient way possible. Her astute and candid outlook along with her bright sparkle ensures an exceptional service to all.
JOHN SHAKALLIS
After working closely with Make-Up artists, Wardrobe, PAs, Production Managers, etc at the BBC for 14 years, John brought his expertise to TOVS in 2000 to supervise the diaries for our Production Staff and Graphic Designers.With his energetic charisma and sophisticated approach to everything, members and clients value John for his quick-thinking and laid back attitude.
KATHARINE SHAW
Having been with TOVS since 2008, Katharine is the cog that keeps the wheels turning. Her skills are limitless and her calming influence makes her the best person to have around in any situation, whether it be an early morning coffee, a last minute CV rush or being our very own budding make up artist.We would miss her even if we had never met her!
